Residential Acoustics
Residential acoustics consists of reverberation and echo control, sound isolation, speech privacy, mechanical noise and vibration control, and home theatre design.
Reverberation/Echo Control: For large open living areas with non-absorptive floors and ceilings, we work with the designers/owners to find creative ways to increase the sound absorption so that reverberation and echoes are not a problem.
Sound isolation: We improve sound isolation by analyzing the background sound, the weak links where sound "leaks" through walls, windows and doors, and eliminating any unwanted noise by limiting the presence of this unwanted sound.
Speech privacy: Whether you need a quiet retreat from the noise of everyday life or privacy for important discussions or phone calls, we can help. We design quiet rooms to eliminate the worry of eavesdropping or noisy children when you' re trying to get things done.
Mechanical noise and vibration control: Sometimes noise or annoyance comes from unwanted vibration often coming from large appliances in your home ( refrigerators, water heaters, pool pumps, etc.) We can help eliminate these annoyances by isolating the vibration and limiting the noise.
Home theatre design: If you're interested in designing a home theatre, we can offer recommendations for speaker design, room arrangement, materials or other essentials that have a fundamental effect on the quality of your listening pleasure.
