CSTI acoustics has extensive experience with continuous monitoring of the sound, vibration, and ultrasound levels in animal facilities.

This experience has led to the development of preliminary noise and ultrasound noise criteria for some facilities.

CSTI acoustics can analyze existing facilities and assist on the design of new facilities.

For M.D. Anderson, CSTI acoustics measured the noise, vibration, and ultrasound exposure of mice and rats in specialized housing facilities and developed preliminary criteria for rodent housing.

It is imperative that sound and vibration in rodent facilities not interfere with the breeding of mice and rats. Since the hearing of rodents extends past the range of human hearing, it is possible to design a facility with unacceptable acoustics for the rodents and for the people not be able to hear it!
